New Make-X improvements and Low-Level Combat Changes
For everyone who does not know what this update is here is the update:
“Many of the Make-X menus in the game have been redesigned. The new version doesn’t require you to right-click to choose Make-X or Make-All. Also, wherever the new menu offers Make-X, it also offers Make-All, so you won’t have to keep typing the same numbers manually. Some of the newly introduced Make-All options include smelting ores, fletching bows and crossbow stocks, and other such popular skill activities.
We’ve also added a couple of new ranged and magic options for low-level players. Rangers might like to get hold of the new sling weapon, which doesn’t need any ammunition to use, and mages should give the new level 1 Wind Rush spell a try as it only requires air runes to cast – or free with a staff of air equipped. Slings are dropped by creatures in the Lumbridge Catacombs (and Kayle’s bow has instead now become Kayle’s sling).
Finally, a handful of low-level monsters in the free-to-play area – including giant rats, giant spiders and goblins – have been rebalanced to be more interesting for new players to fight, which has been made possible by the changes made to life points earlier this year. They’ll also provide handy target practice for the new slings and spell.

This update came out on October 12, 2010. Even though the make-x menu redesigns have been made to many right click options in the game, none in demonheim have been redesigned. Many skillers are very happy with this update because with skills like smithing, you no longer have to type in again and again how many bars you would like to smith.
The new sling weapon is meant for very low leveled players. It hits extremely low, and is now the weakest range weapon in the game. For players who have completed the blood feud quest, you should know that Kayle’s sling is slightly more powerful than the normal sling.
The wind rush spell is now the weakest magic spell in the game. Even at a high level it is rare to hit more than 10 damage with this spell. Like all other damaging magic spells this spell can be auto casted. The difference is that when a player wields an air staff this spell will not require any runes. This is leading to many players leaving themselves logged on with a very low magic attack bonus attacking low level monsters. This will cause the creature to not die, and you will still get xp for casting the spell. This way, even if a player is AFK they can make a considerable amount of magic xp over a long period of time. Keep in mind that while a player is AFK they could be accused of being a bot. Jagex did realize this and it is impossible for a player of a higher magic level than 65 to use this spell.
Jagex also updated some of the statistics of low level monsters. Goblins now have 68lp. There is also a new NPC known as the Lumbridge guard fighting gobbling on the east side of the river lum. Giant rats have also gotten a new graphics redesign to make them look more ferocious.
